The 49th DPPI SEE Regional Meeting took place from 27–29 April 2025 in Bucharest, hosted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Romania — Department for Emergency Situations.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Raed Arafat, State Secretary and Head of the Department for Emergency Situations, for his leadership and support in hosting the meeting. Special thanks also go to Mr. Marius Dogeanu, Head of the Directorate General for Civil Protection, for his continuous commitment to strengthening regional cooperation.
We warmly acknowledge the exceptional efforts of Mr. Cosmin Bunoiu, Ms. Alina Tanasescu, and all our Romanian colleagues involved in the organization of this important event.
Their outstanding hospitality and the excellent organization provided a perfect setting for productive discussions, the exchange of ideas, and the strengthening of cooperation among our member states and partners.
Besides presentations of the achievements and challenges of the DPPI SEE Secretariat and member states, the agenda included presentations from partners such as DG ECHO, UNICEF, UNDP, UNDRR, DHL Group, OSA project for Western Balkans and Türkiye and the IPA CARE consortium, discussions on upcoming joint activities, and key internal sessions to advance our common goals for disaster preparedness and prevention in South-Eastern Europe.
We are proud of the spirit of collaboration demonstrated throughout the meeting and look forward to building on the outcomes achieved in Bucharest!
