Within framework of
Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for
South Eastern Europe (DPPI SEE) Disaster Management
Training Program 2008, the Seminar for Experts and
Senior Managers on NATO Standards and Project Evaluation
Procedures, focusing on Hydro- Meteorological aspects,
will be organized on February 20 - 22, 2008 in RACVIAC
Centre in Zagreb, Croatia.
The Seminar will be
organized in cooperation and coordination between
RACVIAC-Center for Security for SEE, UN ISDR and DPPI
SEE and with support by experts from NATO Science for
Peace and Security Programme, World Meteorological
Organization and World Bank.
The main objectives of the
seminar are introduction to the NATO standards and
project evaluation procedures, but also further
encouraging of cooperation between countries in the
region of SEE and enhancing of joint coordination and
cooperation between national disaster management
authorities and hydro-meteorological institutions in the
field of hydro-meteorological hazards as preparedness
and prevention and risk reduction activities in SEE.
Through the presentations,
lecturers and experts from NATO Science for Peace
Programme will provide us with recommendations and
suggestions how to proceed with the development of
possible project in accordance to the NATO SfP standards
and procedures, but also how to seek possible funds from
NATO for regional project activities.
